The Secretariat was pleased to host NASCO’s Working Group on Habitat Guidelines in person and online in Edinburgh earlier this month, to review and update the Organization’s ‘Guidelines for the Protection, Restoration and Enhancement of Atlantic Salmon Habitat‘, CNL(10)51. The new Guidelines will benefit hugely from the input of experts from around the North Atlantic, in particular that of the accredited observers, with contributions on behalf of NGOs and Indigenous Peoples institutions and representatives.
These important Guidelines will be a vital tool in informing actions to protect habitats and secure a thriving future for wild Atlantic salmon.
